EVENT: National Motoring Heritage Day
WHEN: Sunday 20 May 2018
MEET: TBA – Not yet known which part of Victoria this event is to be held
DETAILS: Motafrenz Car Club regularly attends this annual friendly event with a strong showing of vehicles and will likely again for 2018. There is typically no allocated parking so best to group outside before entering where possible. At the stage (2 April) the venue has not yet been announced.
The National Motoring Heritage Day 2018 will be on the 20th May at a venue to be advised.
All clubs - car, truck, cycle and machinery are invited to participate in the event.
Any club may stage their own event or attend any other event.
The aim of the National Motoring Heritage Day (NMHD) is to promote and display Australia's strong motoring heritage and also show the community, business and government the strength of the Australian motoring movement.
It is most fortunate that the Australian climate has been relatively kind to old motor vehicles and a varied range of early vehicles from Europe and North America still exist - some of which are believed to be the last remaining!
After much consideration the NMHD was chosen to be the third Sunday in May each year and to be adopted in all Australian States and territories. The choice of this day would avoid any conflict with Mother's Day and allow Clubs to plan local events well ahead.
All motoring clubs are encouraged to participate in the event because, without promotion of our hobby, government and community support may gradually fade and concessional registration schemes may be lost.
To further promote community support the AOMC has chosen to assist local communities with proceeds from NMHD rallies.
