Social Events, Weekend Trips and More
Yes! Motafrenz will be displaying some our finest equipment at the Australia Day Picnic at Mt Macedon. There will be cars on show, as well.
Pack the car for a drive in the country and join members of Victoria’s GLBTI community, their family and friends to celebrate our national holiday with the annual Australia Day Picnic in the beautiful gardens at Forest Glade, Mt Macedon.
As always there is limited space for parking Motafrenz cars within the property ~ so be sure and book your space. Once spots are filled, they are filled and while final vehicle count is still to be confirmed there might be as few as 10 spots for Motafrenz. Be sure to reserve your place to park on-site and get free entry for driver to the property [passengers pay regular admission]. If you merely turn up on the day, we may not be able to accommodate your car and drivers will pay a reduced entry fee of $5, in addition to their passengers’ standard entry.
Pack a picnic rug and go all out with your picnic hamper of gourmet goodies and enjoy lunch in one of Australia’s finest private gardens, only an hour from Melbourne.
The Melbourne Gay and Lesbian Chorus and the Melbourne Rainbow Band will be there to add a musical touch. Anyone for a glass of fizz, while being serenaded by Melbourne’s oldest GLBTIQ choir and band?
Located on Mount Macedon Road, gates will be open from 10am to 4pm on Thursday January 26. Entry is $10 for adults and kids are free. Free entry for booked Motafrenz drivers, as well. Roll up on the day and obtain a discounted entry charge. Proceeds go towards supporting the Chorus and the Band.
In order to keep these spectacular gardens looking just so, BBQs and pets are not permitted. However, sunscreen, good food, good company and a designated driver are highly recommended.
